This Cookie Policy explains how Speredata (“Speredata”, “we”) uses cookies and similar technologies on speredata.com, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how you can control it. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, pixels and software development kits — store or read information on your device in comparable ways. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them.

Cookies can be first-party (set by speredata.com) or third-party (set by another domain). They can be session cookies, deleted when you close the browser, or persistent cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them.

2. How we use cookies

We keep this website deliberately light. We use cookies to:

  • keep the site secure, available and correctly routed;
  • remember the cookie choice you made, so we do not ask again on every page;
  • with your consent, measure aggregated usage — which pages are read, on what kind of device — so we can improve the content;
  • with your consent, measure the performance of any advertising or referral campaign that brought you here.

We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you, and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

3. Categories we use

Strictly necessary (no consent required)

Required for the website to function and to protect it from attack and abuse. These cannot be switched off through our banner, because the site cannot be delivered securely without them. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website, and the exemption for cookies strictly necessary to provide a service you requested.

Analytics (consent required)

Aggregated statistics about how the website is used. These are only set after you accept them, and we configure them for minimum data collection. Legal basis: your consent.

Marketing (consent required, off by default)

Measurement of campaign performance. These are only set after you accept them. Legal basis: your consent.

4. Cookies set on this website

The table below lists the cookies in use at the “last updated” date. Because the site is served through Cloudflare, some security cookies may be set by our infrastructure provider.

NameProviderCategoryPurposeDuration
spd_consentsperedata.com (first party)Strictly necessary Stores the cookie preferences you selected, so the banner is not shown again.6 months
spd_consent (local storage)speredata.com (first party)Strictly necessary Keeps a timestamped record of your consent choice and the policy version it applied to, as evidence of consent.Until you clear site data
__cf_bmCloudflare, Inc.Strictly necessary Distinguishes humans from bots so that valid requests are not blocked. Set by our infrastructure provider. 30 minutes
cf_clearanceCloudflare, Inc.Strictly necessary Records that a security challenge was passed, so it is not repeated on every request.Up to 1 year
_spd_asperedata.com (first party)Analytics Distinguishes visits for aggregated usage statistics. Only set if you accept analytics cookies. 13 months
_spd_csperedata.com (first party)Marketing Attributes a visit to a referral or campaign source. Only set if you accept marketing cookies. 90 days

5. Your consent and how to change it

When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary category is set until you accept it. You can accept all, reject non-essential, or open preferences to decide per category. Rejecting non-essential cookies does not reduce the functionality of this website.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time — it is as easy to withdraw as to give — by selecting Cookie settings here or in the footer of any page. Withdrawal takes effect immediately for future processing and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. Clearing your browser’s site data also erases your recorded choice, and the banner will appear again on your next visit.

6. Managing cookies in your browser

Browsers let you block or delete cookies independently of our banner, usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, may prevent parts of this or other websites from working. Vendor instructions are available for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.

7. Third parties and international transfers

Strictly necessary security cookies are set by Cloudflare, Inc., which delivers and protects this website and processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Where cookie data is transferred outside the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where applicable.

We do not permit third parties to use cookies on this website for their own independent purposes.

8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

There is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” signals, so we do not respond to them. Where required by applicable law, we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out of non-essential cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the cookies we use change, or when law or guidance requires it. The version on this page is the version in force and the “last updated” date shows when it last changed. If we introduce a new non-essential cookie, we will ask for your consent again before setting it.
